Within the Flame

I wanted to do a fire based picture but not simply flames, something a bit more immersive. I had the idea of figures emerging but when I did that I could not get it right and the figures just seemed to clash and not fit in. So, I kept with the flames aspect and just embellished it. Despite it all I could not get away from the idea of having some blue as a sort of counterpoint. Very enjoyable to paint. I wanted it to be a striking piece to bring attention to a space.  Original painting is 75cm x 100cm, oil on canvas.
